Private Wedding Memory Album

Design a couple-owned wedding site for sharing selected photos, stories, and guest contributions with clear privacy controls.

Responsive web, Mobile

The brief

Understand the problem

Background

A wedding album can preserve meaningful moments, but guests may not want every photo public or downloadable. Couples also need a simple way to collect contributions without surrendering ownership or exposing an event indefinitely.

User context

Maya and Theo want to share a curated album with wedding guests and invite private notes. One family member has asked not to appear in publicly accessible images.

Product problem

The experience should feel personal and celebratory while making audience, contribution, download, and removal choices unmistakable.

Objective

Create the album welcome, story gallery, guest contribution, and privacy management experience for a recently married couple.

What to design

Define the experience

Required experience

  • Enter through an invited guest link
  • Browse moments organized by story rather than file order
  • Contribute a photo or written memory
  • Request removal or manage album access

Screens and states

  • Album welcome
  • Story gallery
  • Guest contribution
  • Privacy and access settings

Core user flow

Follow the critical path

  1. 01

A guest opens an expiring invitation link

  2. 02

They browse the ceremony story with captions

  3. 03

They upload a photo and choose whether the couple may share it

  4. 04

The couple hides a group image while reviewing a removal request

Product rules

Requirements and constraints

Requirements

  • Give the couple clear public, invited, and private audience controls
  • Capture contributor consent for display and download
  • Support alt text, captions, and chronological or thematic browsing
  • Provide simple removal and full-album export options

Constraints

  • Guest uploads require review before publication
  • Face recognition is outside scope
  • Invitation links need revocation and expiry

Reality check

States worth considering

A link is forwarded
A guest uploads a duplicate
A person withdraws photo consent
The album reaches its storage limit

Finish line

What to deliver

  • Four responsive screens showing guest and couple perspectives

Optional direction

Visual resources

Use these as a starting constraint if you want one. They are not part of the required solution.
